Prop 8 Bust

It's official, the California Supreme Court voted 6-1 to uphold Proposition 8. I can't say that I'm not incredibly disappointed. On a positive note, they also voted to honor the 18,000+ marriages that were made legal during the small window of time that the state of California recognized equality. Either way, this was going to come back to a ballot vote next year whether we won right now or lost. Hopefully, when it goes back to a vote in 2010, the citizens of the state of California will get off of their asses and do the right thing.

There are protests planned for tonight across the country. Check Join The Impact for more information. If you're in Chicago, people are meeting up at the Center on Halsted at 7:00 p.m. Additionally, Chicagoans, I encourage to stand up now and make your voices heard as our own Civil Unions bill is being voted on this week.
