How Do You Get Your Fiber?

Sometimes, my life feels like the never-ending quest for fiber. The never-ending story, if you will. Minus the giant flying dog. The FDA’s daily recommendation of fiber is based on 11.5 grams of fiber per 1,000 calories. That’s a lot, kids. There are plenty of foods that are high in fiber, but it’s hard to get a good mix…especially when you take taste into account. I was at Kramer's Health Food store for lunch yesterday and picked up a free sample of Chia Fresh Daily Fiber.

This daily fiber supplement is made from ground Chia seeds and boasts fiber benefits without bloating or gas. Lovely. Since I’m constantly worried about getting enough fiber (poo matters!), I decided to give it a try. The company recommends that you mix it with a smoothie, water or juice. My buddy tried the water already and said that it tasted like a gross, watery oatmeal. SO, I decided to mix it in with this guy:

Why would I do that? Well, number one, Pad Thai SOUP disturbs me (don’t ask why I bought it), and I wanted to thicken it up. Number two, this soup was kinda grody on it’s own, so I figured the ground Chai couldn’t hurt it. I was wrong. It felt like I was eating cardboard flavored mushy soup. Mmmmmmmm. Mushhhhhh.

On with the never-ending quest. I'm off to find a flying dog.
